Lucknow. Yogi government’s ambitious Noida International Airport (Jewar) project has achieved a major achievement. The airport has received Security Vetting Approval from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
This approval is given after detailed examination of the security arrangements implemented at the airport. With this clearance, the way for getting the aerodrome license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is almost clear. After getting the license, flight operations can be started from here.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government is taking this project forward rapidly. The government aims to include Jewar Airport among the most modern and largest airports of the country, which will give a new impetus to the economic progress of Uttar Pradesh.
Detailed investigation of safety standards
According to Rakesh Kumar Singh, CEO of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), checking of safety standards is mandatory before starting flight operations at any airport. For this, the expert team of BCAS inspects many important systems of the airport. In this, the security surveillance system, access control, passenger screening process, cargo security system and other security mechanisms are reviewed in detail. When all the arrangements are found to be as per the prescribed standards, only then the airport is granted security waiting clearance.
Flight operation will start after DGCA license
Receiving security vetting approval means that the airport’s security system has been considered safe for flight operations. After this the next important step is the issuance of aerodrome license by DGCA. Only after getting this license, commercial flights can be started from any airport. The state government has included Jewar Airport among the most important infrastructure projects of the state. With its operation, Western Uttar Pradesh and the entire National Capital Region (NCR) is going to get a major aviation hub.

The government believes that the opening of Noida International Airport will give a big boost to investment, tourism, logistics and trade in the state.
