UP Lecturer cadre examination concludes with over 1.92 lakh candidates appearing

The written examination for the Lecturer Cadre conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission concluded across the state on May 10 after two days of examinations held at multiple centres.
According to officials, more than 1.92 lakh candidates appeared for the recruitment examination conducted in two shifts on both days.

The examination covered several subjects, including Civics, Mathematics, Economics, Sanskrit, Psychology, Chemistry, Geography, Hindi and Fine Arts. The morning session was held from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, while the afternoon session took place from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

Commission Chairman Dr. Prashant Kumar stated that the examination process was conducted under extensive monitoring arrangements aimed at maintaining order and reducing irregularities. Authorities used an AI-integrated Control Command Room to supervise examination centres in real time. Surveillance systems equipped with AI-enabled cameras were used to observe activities at centres during the examination period.

Officials said the monitoring system functioned from the Commission headquarters in the presence of senior officers, including administrative and examination officials. The surveillance arrangement was intended to track activities across examination halls and support coordination during the recruitment process.

Attendance data released by the Commission showed that 89,766 candidates appeared on May 9, while 1,03,168 candidates took the examination on May 10. Overall attendance across the two days stood at 41.53 percent. The attendance rate among male candidates was higher than that of female candidates on both examination days.

As part of a pilot initiative introduced at selected centres in Lucknow, OMR answer sheets were scanned inside examination halls immediately after the examination concluded. Officials said the process was conducted in the presence of candidates and the scanned records were digitally secured soon afterward. The scanning procedure was also monitored through the central control room.

The Commission stated that the pilot project was introduced to test the use of technology in streamlining examination procedures and record handling. Authorities did not announce whether the system would be expanded to future examinations.

Officials also acknowledged the role of district administrations, police personnel, examination staff and centre authorities in conducting the examination process across the state. The recruitment examination concluded without any major disruption being officially reported during the two-day schedule.
