Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves UCC Bill: A big decision was taken in the cabinet of Madhya Pradesh today on 19th July. Dr. Mohan Yadav government approved the draft of Uniform Civil Code UCC Bill.

Jagdishpur (Madhya Pradesh): A big news has come regarding Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Madhya Pradesh. The draft of the UCC bill was approved in the cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday. This meeting took place in Jagdishpur. Now this bill will be presented in the monsoon session of the Assembly starting tomorrow i.e. Monday.

Uniform Civil Code Bill approved in MP

  • After the meeting, CM Mohan Yadav spoke to the media and told that this decision has been taken unanimously.
  • The CM said, “Today the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has wholeheartedly and unanimously approved the Uniform Civil Code Bill, 2026. I want to congratulate all my cabinet colleagues and all of you.”
  • Mohan Yadav emphasized that the government is committed to constitutional equality and this bill is in accordance with the old values ​​of India.
  • He further said, “We have moved forward in this direction so that this bill is ready to be introduced in the Assembly session starting from July 20. For us, equality has always been an important part of Indian culture and values.”

Decision taken after sending 3 crore SMS

  • Chief Minister Mohan Yadav claimed huge public support for the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), saying that more than 93% of the state’s population supports this law. Giving specific data on the feedback received from the Muslim community, the CM said that a large section of Muslim women are in favor of this uniform law.
  • “Our data shows that 80% Muslim sisters and 40% Muslim brothers believe that there should be a uniform law. We received 3 crore SMS and we also took public opinion through print, social and electronic media. I myself also sought opinion directly from the public in many rallies and meetings.”

93.54% people of the state supported this law

  • ”On April 27, a committee of 7 members was formed and suggestions were sought from everyone. We also studied states where UCC is already in force. We received a total of 9,58,000 (9.58 lakh) suggestions, and 93.54% of the people in the state have supported this law,” he said.
  • The CM stressed that this law has been made to end discrimination and bring all communities under one legal ambit.
  • CM Yadav said, “We have resolved that everyone in the society should get equal rights without any discrimination. Be it Ram, Rahim, Ravinder or Robin – everyone should get equal rights.” (ANI)
