The second postmortem of Twisha Sharma is going to be conducted in Bhopal by the forensic team of AIIMS, which has brought a new twist in the case. Husband Samarth Singh is in police custody and is accused of non-cooperation in the investigation. Dowry harassment, suspicious injuries, absconding and 10 days missing have deepened the mystery of the death.
Bhopal/New Delhi: The suspense and legal drama has reached its peak in the country’s most talked about and high-profile Twisha Sharma death case. A high-level forensic team from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, has reached Bhopal with modern equipment on Saturday evening. This five-member team, led by Dr. Milo (Chairman, AIIMS Forensic Board), will conduct the second postmortem of Twisha’s body on Sunday. The decision comes after Twisha’s family alleged institutional bias and procedural shortcomings in the first report.

Gymnastic Belt vs. Bruises: Is It Murder?
The biggest puzzle facing the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating is the marks found on Twisha’s body. According to the ligature report, a ‘gymnastics belt’ was used for hanging, which prima facie gives rise to the theory of suicide. However, several other mysterious injury marks found on Twisha’s body have made this theory completely doubtful. Only this new scientific investigation of AIIMS will now clarify whether it is just a suicide or a premeditated brutal murder.

10 days of absconding and 19 sharp questions: Samarth in SIT’s maze
The SIT has intensified the interrogation of the accused husband Samarth Singh, who was absconding for 10 days after Twisha’s death. There was no remorse or panic visible on the face of Samarth, who was caught just before surrender in Jabalpur, in the courtroom, but he was sweating profusely in the SIT office. According to sources, the police has put a long list of 19 sharp questions before Samarth, which mainly include:
- Where did he go after suddenly leaving Twisha alone on the night of 12th May?
- Who gave him shelter while he was absconding and was he in Bhopal itself or outside the city?
- What is the truth about the financial transactions between the two, especially the mysterious transfer of ₹7 lakh?
Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar has made it clear that the helpers who gave shelter to Samarth will also not be spared. Meanwhile, the Bar Council of India has suspended his advocacy.
