Shreyas Iyer in Run Chase: When it comes to run chase, only one name comes to mind – Virat Kohli. But, what Shreyas Iyer has done on the IPL pitch is no less. His figures show that he is also an expert in run chasing. He has contributed in many big runs in IPL 2026 itself. The match played against Lucknow Super Giants on 23 May is the latest example of this. It was very important for Punjab Kings to win this match for the playoffs. In such a situation, after the initial two wickets fell quickly, Shreyas Iyer took the responsibility of making the team win and while chasing the target of 197 runs, he single-handedly scored an unbeaten 101 runs.

Whereas he has scored 1 century and 8 half-centuries from his bat. During this period, Virat Kohli is the only one who has scored more runs than Shreyas Iyer in the run chase. However, Shreyas has been ahead of him in terms of average and strike rate.

Not out in 6 out of last 9 innings in successful run chase

Shreyas has played 9 innings in successful run chases since last season, in which he remained unbeaten in 6. During this period he scored 7 half-centuries and 1 century.
