Rajgarh (Madhya Pradesh): A sad news has come from Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. Here a woman and two children died due to drowning in a pit filled with water. This incident took place in Jaganiyapura village of Biaora police station area between 1.30 and 2 pm on Monday afternoon. As soon as the news was received, the police reached the spot and removed the bodies and sent them for postmortem.

  • Biaora police station incharge Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that there is a crusher plant in Jaganiyapura village. There are some pits near the plant, which were filled with water. About 25 to 30 families of Pardhi community live nearby, whose population is between 100 to 150. These people used the water of these pits for bathing.

Three died trying to save each other

According to SHO Chauhan, “On Monday afternoon, around 1.30-2 pm, these people were taking bath near a pit. A 6-year-old boy started drowning in the water. Shaitan Singh Pardhi’s wife Saira entered the water to save him, but she also drowned. Later, a 9-year-old girl also went into the water and she also died due to drowning.”

Police removed bodies of mother and children

  • The police officer said that as soon as the police got information about the incident, a team immediately reached the spot and took out the bodies. After this, the bodies were sent for postmortem and then handed over to the family.
  • The police station in-charge further said, “We have registered a case in this matter and are investigating. We will also find out the reasons behind the incident. We will also recommend financial assistance to the victim’s family under the government scheme.”
