Blessing Muzarabani: Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani is part of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2026. He entered this league as a replacement player. Earlier, he was signed by Islamabad United for PSL 2026. But he chose IPL. Due to which Pakistan Cricket Board has banned Blessing Muzarabani from Pakistan Super League for 2 years. In such a situation, Blessing Muzarabani’s manager has given a sharp reply to the two-year ban imposed by PSL. The manager clearly said that he had not received any contract, hence this ban is wrong.
Muzarabani’s manager opened up about Pakistan
Let us tell you, Muzarabani was selected by Islamabad United as a replacement signing for PSL 2026. This agreement was provisional and was dependent on receiving a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Zimbabwe Cricket Board. According to the agency ‘World Sports Exchange’, no written contract was ever sent by PSL. A contract is necessary to get NOC, but when the contract was not received then the process of NOC could not proceed.
“You cannot violate a contract you never received,” the agency said in a statement. He accused the PSL that this decision is too harsh and does not match the punishment given to players who have actually broken the contract. The agency appealed to PSL to withdraw this ban and consider it an administrative mistake on its part. However, he has not made any complaint against PSL or Islamabad United.
Did wonders in IPL
On behalf of PSL, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has banned Muzarabani for two years, accusing him of breaking the code of conduct and not fulfilling commitments. This decision was taken under the leadership of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. This controversy has come to light in the middle of IPL 2026, when the league matches are going on. Now this decision of PSL can affect the availability of foreign players like Muzarabani in future. Muzarabani has played two matches so far in IPL 2026. He remained wicketless in the first match, but he took four wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
