Annapurna scheme
There is news of great relief for lakhs of women of West Bengal. Under Annapurna Yojana, the first installment of Rs 3,000 will soon be sent to the bank accounts of eligible women. According to the state government, the amount will start being deposited through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) from June 3. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to economically weak women. To avail the benefits of the scheme, it will be necessary to fulfill the prescribed eligibility conditions and complete the application process.
The West Bengal government has announced that the distribution of the first installment under the Annapurna Scheme will start from June 3. Rs 3,000 will be directly transferred to the Aadhaar linked bank accounts of eligible women beneficiaries. The government says that the entire process will be conducted in a transparent manner through the DBT system.
Which women will be eligible?
The benefit of the scheme will be available only to those women whose age is between 25 to 60 years. Apart from this, those women who are not permanent government employees, do not receive salary or pension and do not come under the income tax bracket, can apply for this scheme.
What is the application process?
The government has released a 12-page application form for the scheme. Applicants will have to fill the form and get it verified from the concerned authorities. The nomination process will start from June 1 and continue for 90 days. Application can be made through both online and offline medium. This process will be completed in a phased manner at the ward and municipal level. The government has said that those women who are facing any kind of problem in filling the application form, they do not need to worry. Help camps will be organized in various areas, where people will be given help in completing the application process. Besides, government officials will also assist the needy women in filling the forms.
Documents required for application
Some important documents have to be submitted while applying for Annapurna Yojana. These include Aadhar card, Voter ID card, residence certificate, bank account information or passbook and passport size photo. Application status can be checked both online and offline. To check the status online, you will have to go to the official portal of the scheme and enter the application number in the Track Application option. Whereas for offline information, information can be obtained by showing the receipt in the local block or municipal office.
