Letters of support submitted to the Governor
According to sources, Vijay submitted letters of support from other allies to the Governor and formally staked claim to form the government. During this time, senior leaders of TVK were also present with him. The special thing was that Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar canceled his Kerala tour, after which the political turmoil intensified. Earlier it was discussed that the Governor is going to leave for Kerala by 7:10 pm flight. In such a situation, TVK leaders feared that if the meeting could not be held, the process of government formation might be postponed. However, at the last moment the Governor changed his schedule and Vijay got the appointment.

In the results of Tamil Nadu assembly elections, TVK had emerged as the largest party, but was a few seats short of the majority. After this, Vijay was continuously talking to allies. On Saturday, VCK and Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) also formally announced their support to TVK. After the support of these two parties, TVK’s number reached 121, which is considered sufficient to form the government.
