A very shocking case has come to light from JPMorgan Chase, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious banks. Behind the glamor and high packages of the corporate world, a horrifying story of misuse of power and position has come to light, which can surprise anyone. A junior male employee of JP Morgan has filed a case against his senior female boss, accusing him of sexual harassment, giving drugs and making racist comments.
Exploited by misuse of position
According to a lawsuit filed in New York County Supreme Court, this entire incident began in the early months of 2024. The victim, who has been named ‘John Doe’ for security reasons, is a senior VP/director of Asian origin. At the same time, the accused woman Lorna Hajdini (37) was posted as Executive Director in the Leveraged Finance Division of the bank. The complaint states that shortly after they began working together, Hajdini began behaving inappropriately toward the victim. It started with deliberately dropping a pen near the desk and touching the victim inappropriately. When the victim protested against these advances and rejected his invitations, the female boss started threatening him with ruining his career. She clearly told the victim that she had ‘bought’ him.
drugs, racism then forced relationship
As time passed, the situation became worse. The lawsuit documents are full of extremely disturbing claims. The victim alleges that the female boss gave her medicines like ‘Roofiz’ (date-rape drug) several times without informing her so that he could physically exploit her. Referring to an incident, it is said that in the summer, Hajdini forcibly reached the apartment where the victim was staying. There he made lewd racist remarks at the victim’s Asian wife and forcibly had physical relations with her despite her protesting and crying. Not only this, the female boss reprimanded her for crying and also made racist taunts by using words like ‘curry’.
If you want promotion, you have to accept my conditions.
According to the complaint, Hajdini kept making him feel that the victim’s career was completely in his hands. In September 2024, he pressured the victim to comply with his sexual demands if she wanted to be promoted to the post of Managing Director and keep her bonus. She openly threatened that the management did not want to see a ‘brown boy’ in the lead and she could stop his promotion. Due to the fear of losing his job and ruining his career, the victim was repeatedly subjected to mental and physical torture. During this period, witnesses have also been cited in the complaint to confirm some incidents.
Threatened to get the victim fired from job
When the limit of tolerance was crossed, the victim gave a written complaint to the bank management. But instead of getting justice, he was allegedly punished. The complainant claims that within a few days of filing the report, he was locked out of all the company’s systems and forcibly sent on leave. Additionally, she started receiving threats from unknown numbers, threatening to complain to Immigration (ICE) and get fired from her job.
On the other hand, JP Morgan spokesperson has completely rejected all these allegations. The bank says that its internal investigation found no truth in these claims and the complainant had refused to cooperate in the investigation. At present Hajdini is still working in the bank.
According to the victim’s lawyer Daniel J Kaiser, this entire incident has mentally broken his client. He is suffering from PTSD and is demanding compensation for the huge damage caused to his reputation and career.
