Tata Motors will launch Sierra EV soon. The spy photos reveal that its design is similar to the ICE model, but with the grille closed. It is expected to get a large touchscreen, 65-75 kWh battery pack like Harrier EV and AWD option.
TaTA Motors is currently preparing to launch an electric version of its famous SUV Sierra. The petrol-diesel (ICE) model of Sierra was launched last year and its deliveries started from mid-January this year. Now the company is planning to introduce its electric avatar. It seems that Tata may soon launch Sierra Electric in the market. Recently, some spy pictures of the Sierra EV have surfaced, which have given a glimpse of the cabin of this upcoming electric vehicle. These pictures have been shared by a Reddit user. In these pictures, two Sierra Electric vehicles are seen parked next to each other in a parking lot. Both the SUVs are heavily camouflaged and ride on the same alloy wheels as the Sierra ICE.
Same as regular Sierra from outside
The Sierra electric SUV features a connecting LED bar, dual-function LED DRLs and the same stylish LED headlamps as the regular Sierra. However, its front grille is completely closed and it has a lower air dam. The side profile of the SUV is also largely similar to the regular Sierra. It includes things like gloss black cladding, flush-fitting door handles, large ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and a 360-degree camera. Like the ICE version, the EV is also expected to get Level 2 ADAS and other safety features. At the rear, the Sierra EV features LED tail lamps and a sleek LED connecting bar with turn indicators. It also has a roof-integrated spoiler and rear defogger. The rear windscreen wiper is located just below the spoiler.
Large touchscreen infotainment system
If we talk about the interior, then these pictures reveal a large touchscreen infotainment system. It looks similar to the 12.3-inch unit found in the Sierra. However, the test model seen in the spy pictures seems to be a low-spec variant, as the SUV does not have a triple-screen setup. Whereas a 12.3-inch third screen is also available in the Accomplished+ variant of the ICE version. We also get a brief glimpse of the driver display. The design of the screen is similar to other Tata models.
Expected to get Harrier EV battery pack
It is worth noting that unlike the ICE version, the Sierra EV may be available in QWD or AWD options from day one of its launch. It is expected that it will get a 65 kWh or 75 kWh battery pack like the Harrier EV. Its driving range is also expected to be good. Sierra EV will be positioned between Harrier EV and Nexon EV in the market. It is expected that Sierra EV will be launched in this quarter.
