Flinders University India Campus: There is great news for Indian students who dream of studying in a foreign university. Flinders University of Australia will now start its campus in Bengaluru, India. This will give students an opportunity to obtain a university degree in Australia without going to Australia. This decision has received important approval during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Australia visit. The university will open the campus in early 2027.
Approval received for PM Modi’s Australia tour
During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Australia, UGC (University Grants Commission) handed over LoI (Letter of Intent) to Flinders University to open a campus in India. With this, the number of Australian universities that have received approval to open campuses in India has increased to 8.
Studies will start from 2027
The university aims to start admissions for the first batch in early 2027. In the initial phase, both graduation and postgraduation level courses will be available. Business, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Master of Information Technology and MBA (Future Business) courses will be started in this campus. These courses will be prepared keeping in mind the needs of the industry, so that along with studies, one can get better career opportunities.
Studied in India, but degree is from Australia
Colin Stirling, Vice Chancellor of Flinders University, expressed his delight and said that students studying at the Bengaluru campus will get the same academic quality, level of study and industry focus for which the university is known in Australia. According to Sterling, Bengaluru is a city where technology, innovation and new ideas move forward rapidly. Students studying here will get global exposure and better opportunity to connect with the industry.

Bengaluru is considered the technology capital of India. A large number of IT companies, startups, biotech and research institutes are present here. Students studying in such an environment can get more opportunities to connect with the industry, get internships and build professional networks.

When will admissions start?
Currently, Flinders University has received approval to establish the campus, which will open in early 2027. Information about application dates, fees and admission process will be released later this year.
