Strong return of FIIs, purchases worth Rs 8,000 crore in 6 days

foreign investors

After continuous selling for several months, the attitude of foreign investors i.e. FIIs seems to be changing. His vigorous buying in recent times has completely changed the environment of the stock market. This is the reason why once again a positive atmosphere seems to be developing on Dalal Street.

According to NSDL data, between April 10 and April 21, FIIs made heavy purchases on 6 out of 7 trading days. During this period he invested about Rs 8,000 crore in the Indian stock market. Out of this, about Rs 6,500 crore was invested in the secondary market i.e. buying and selling of shares, while about Rs 1,500 crore was invested in the primary market i.e. new issues. This change clearly indicates that the confidence of foreign investors is gradually returning.

market boom period

The effect of this withdrawal of FIIs is clearly visible on the market also. Both BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 have risen by more than 9% since the beginning of April. Not only this, even more growth has been seen in midcap and smallcap shares. BSE MidCap 150 has jumped by around 14% and BSE SmallCap 250 has jumped by around 17.6%. It is clear from this that enthusiasm has returned in the market not only in big but also in small stocks.

Why did you suddenly change your stance?

This withdrawal of FIIs has surprised many investors, because till some time ago they were continuously withdrawing money. Many reasons are believed to be behind this change. The first major reason is that share prices have become attractive after the recent fall. That means investors are now finding the Indian market cheaper and better valued. The second reason is the strong results of the companies, which show that business growth has continued despite difficult circumstances. Apart from this, due to some easing of tensions at the international level, especially between America, Iran and Israel, investor confidence has also increased.

However, it is too early to say whether this purchase by FIIs will continue for a long time or not. Some experts are considering this as a short-term recovery, while some believe that if the situation remains stable then foreign investors can keep investing money in future also. At present, it is certain that the return of FIIs has injected new life into the market and a smile has returned on the faces of investors again.
