Somvati Amavasya Puja Method
– On June 15, wake up early in the morning and take bath and then take a pledge to fast and worship with water, rice and flowers in your hand.
– After this offer water to Sun God. Anoint Lord Shiva with water, milk and Belpatra. Chant Om Namah Shivay.
– If possible, perform Tarpan and Shraddha rituals for the peace of the ancestors. Otherwise, remember your ancestors by offering incense of ghee and jaggery on a pot at home.
– Worship the Peepal tree and revolve around it. On this day, food, clothes and money should also be donated to needy people.
– Follow the rules of Satvik fast throughout the day like avoiding anger and disputes. Don’t backbite anyone, don’t hurt anyone.
– Next day i.e. 16th June, Tuesday morning, feed food to the Brahmins and break the fast. This can solve your problems.
Rare coincidence after 396 years
According to scholars, on June 15, the Sun will leave Taurus and enter Gemini. This will be called Mithun Sankranti. The rare coincidence of Mithun Sankranti on Somvati Amavasya had earlier occurred on June 10, 1630, i.e. 396 years later.
