Skoda Superb Diesel Unveiled For India – Launch In 2027

If there is one car name that is befitting for the attributes it is representing, it has to Skoda Superb. This executive D Segment sedan was on sale in India (3rd Gen) and was discontinued. Skoda has now officially unveiled the 4th Gen Superb for the Indian market in Mumbai alongside the launch of Slavia Facelift.

4th Gen Skoda Superb will launch in India in mid 2027, but what is more interesting than the Superb itself is the fact that Skoda is bringing the Diesel engines back for the Indian market with Superb, hinting at a possible Kodiaq Diesel in the future.

Skoda Superb Diesel Unveiled For India

Unlike the Skoda Superb showcased at the 2025 Bharat MNobility Expo last year, the model Skoda is launching in India is not a 4X4 model with AWD setup. Instead, the Superb Diesel for India will be FWD only. This is a 2.0L Turbo Diesel engine making around 147 bhp of peak power and 360 Nm of peak torque, mated to a sole 7-speed DSG transmission.

Skoda is bringing the 4th Gen Superb Diesel to our shores via the CBU route and a possibility for local assembly might be on the cards, depending on the customer reception. In terms of dimensions, 4th Gen Superb measures 4,912 mm in length, 1,849 mm in width and a,511 mm in height. Wheelbase is 2,841 mm and this executive sedan rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.

In terms of design, 4th Gen Superb is as elegant as it can get. It features the LED Matrix headlight setup along with the brand’s new butterfly grille design. Bumper gets tastefully done chrome garnishes and there are power bulges on the bonnet. Side creases look they’re cut from a sharp suit and rear has contemporary LED tail lights with a C-shaped insignia.

On the inside, Skoda Superb shares a lot of its components with the Kodiaq. For starters, Superb gets tan colour Cognac leather interior trim and rear gets a Sleep Package with the India-spec Superb. Attributes like 10 airbags, 360-degree cameras, Level 2 ADAS suite, Canton audio system, the smart and multi-function climate control dials are present with India-spec Superb.

Executive Class Interior

To elevate the interior ambiance and luxury, Skoda Superb will come with extensive noise insulating materials. There is more soft touch materials in Superb than there are in Kodiaq. Along with front door pockets, rear ones get felt lining too. Behind rear centre armrest, there is through loading as well.

Rear passengers get their own climate zone along with rear sunblinds. India-spec Superb will miss out on a sunroof, which is fine as we don’t really need one anyways. Front seats are heater, ventilated, massaging and electrically powered with 3 memory settings. Dashboard is dominated by a 13-inch infotainment screen and behind the steering wheel is a TFT instrument cluster.
