Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh: Bangladesh’s legendary all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has made a big revelation. In an interview given to Bangladeshi newspaper Pratham Alo, he said that he was asked for 1 crore taka in Bangladeshi currency to drop the murder charges. A criminal case of murder was registered against Shakib Al Hasan in Bangladesh in August 2024. The petitioner had demanded Taka 1 crore from Shakib for removing his name from that case itself.
Last match played for Bangladesh in October 2024
Shakib Al Hasan played his last Test for Bangladesh on 1 October 2024 in Kanpur. But, last year, he took a U-turn on his decision of retirement, saying that he wanted to play the last match of his career on Bangladeshi soil. Now he is not officially retired from both Test and T20. Now the question is whether Shakib Al Hasan will be able to play for Bangladesh again? Will Shakib, who has been away for a long time, be able to return to Bangladesh again?
3 cases including murder registered against Shakib
There are no answers to these questions at present. Shakib said in the interview that he can return to Bangladesh if the travel ban imposed on him is lifted and he is provided necessary security. Shakib Al Hasan has three cases registered against him in Bangladesh including murder. An FIR was registered against him for the murder of a government employee during student protests in Bangladesh. He was accused of inciting the mob to commit murder.
1 crore taka demanded to remove name from the case
Now Shakib Al Hasan revealed that he was asked for Taka 1 crore to remove his name from that case. Shakib said that he had received names of one or two middlemen from those who filed the case, whose names he did not want to take. He had demanded Taka 1 crore from him, so that he could remove his name from the case. Shakib further said that however, he did not know that the case has now been registered. Therefore, now it will not be easy to remove the name from there even if one wants to, unless the police intervenes in it.
The next question to Shakib was, what did he say when the proposal of Taka 1 crore came? Shakib said that what was the need to give him money, when he did not do anything. If I had given money, it would have meant that I had a hand in it. Shakib said that perhaps he thinks that he has a lot of money, that is why he asked.
