Patna District Magistrate Thyagarajan S.M. Has issued a new order for all government and private schools in the district. According to the order, any kind of studies, classes or other educational activities have been banned after 11 am for students up to class 8th.

New order will come into effect from May 18

The instructions issued by the district administration will come into effect from Monday, May 18, 2026 and will remain effective till May 21, 2026. The administration has clearly said that continuously rising temperatures and heat wave-like conditions can become a serious threat to the health of children. It has been said in the order that all the school managements should decide the time table of their institutions accordingly, so that the children can be protected from the strong afternoon sun and heat.

Rules applicable to pre-school and Anganwadi centers also

The administration has also clarified that this order will not be limited to schools only. All pre-schools, play schools and Anganwadi centers in the district will also have to follow the same rules. Due to heat, the risk of problems like dehydration, dizziness and heat stroke increases in small children. For this reason, the administration has taken this step as a precaution.

Advice given to parents also

The district administration has appealed to the parents to avoid sending their children out in the hot sun and take adequate water, light food and take necessary precautions. School operators have also been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the new order while giving priority to the health of children.
