Saurabh Bharadwaj questions BJP govt over missing Rs 500 cr trust file

AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that CM Rekha Gupta’s govt is hiding the SS Mota Singh School Trust file despite a Delhi HC order. The trust holds land worth Rs 500 crore, raising questions about a potential BJP cover-up and corruption.

AAP Alleges BJP Hiding File on Rs 500 Cr Trust

Aam Aadmi Party Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj on Monday called out the Rekha Gupta government, alleging its failure to produce the SS Mota Singh School Trust file despite a Delhi High Court order. He stated that the High Court had directed the Revenue Department under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to provide the file, yet the District Magistrate has still not made it available.

The trust holds land worth Rs 500 crore, raising questions over what the BJP government is allegedly trying to conceal. The AAP Delhi State President questioned whether the file contains the names of associates of senior BJP leaders who were trying to take control of the trust. He also questioned whether political figures should be allowed to take control of a minority Sikh institution.

In a video statement on X, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “In stories, we used to see that a king’s life was hidden inside a parrot. Today, it appears that the lives of several senior BJP leaders are trapped in the file of the SS Mota Singh School Trust. The matter is becoming so complicated that even the Chief Minister’s own Revenue Department and the Divisional Commissioner may now face the consequences.”

High Court Order to Produce File

Showing a copy of the Delhi High Court, he explained that they had to approach the court because the government was withholding the file containing details of who had been secretly appointed as trustees of the SS Mota Singh School.

“We went to the DM’s office several times and spoke to them, but they did not provide the file. Therefore, we ultimately had to approach the Delhi High Court.”

Saurabh Bharadwaj added that on July 8, 2026, the Delhi High Court formally directed the Delhi Government, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s Revenue Department, the Divisional Commissioner and the DM to produce the SS Mota Singh School trust file.

Deadline Expires, No Action Taken

“The court directed them to locate and provide the file, and if the file did not exist, to state so and reconstruct it.” He added that they had been given one month to locate the file.

“The one-month period expired on August 8, but the government has still not given any response. If the file has been lost, as files related to corruption in the Delhi Government are often being destroyed, as happened in the Health Department scam, an FIR should have been registered. No FIR has been registered. This means that the file is being deliberately concealed and that, despite the High Court’s order, an attempt is being made to suppress the matter.”

Bharadwaj Poses Direct Questions to CM

The AAP Delhi Chief posed a direct question to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, “What is there in this file, and who are the people who have been secretly appointed as trustees of this school, which has assets worth ₹500 crore, that your entire government is trying to hide the file?”

He recalled that he had earlier revealed that they had found a Facebook post in which a man named Amarjeet Singh Babbu had thanked Delhi Government Minister Parvesh Verma, claiming that the minister had made him a trustee of the SS Mota Singh School.

Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “When we asked Parvesh Verma what his connection was with this trust and how he could appoint someone as a trustee of this school, he filed a defamation case against us. That case will continue, but the question remains: What is there in the trust of SS Mota Singh School and its file that the entire government is trying to hide and suppress?

Very soon, we will put all the revelations before the public.” (ANI)
