The name of the girl who died is Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Fretas. The incident occurred on an old, abandoned bridge in Sao Paulo, which is about 40 meters (about 131 feet) high. Three instructors together threw Maria off the bridge, but they forgot to check whether the safety rope was tied or not. After this terrible negligence, the Brazilian police has arrested all three trainers. A video of this incident is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
It can be clearly seen in the video that two people wearing white helmets hold Maria’s hands and a third person takes her to the edge of the bridge. After this they throw him down. But no safety rope was tied to Maria’s body. Let us tell you that in rope jumping, normal ropes are used, in which the person jumping, after falling down, swings from one side to the other like a pendulum.
In the video, at the moment the girl is being thrown down, a person standing nearby shouts, ‘Tie the rope!’. But by then it was too late and the trainer had already pushed Maria down. Maria died instantly, falling onto the concrete floor beneath the bridge. The surprising thing is that in the video, the three instructors who threw the girl are themselves seen equipped with safety belts and ropes.
According to reports, the three arrested people are instructors of a private company. Police are considering registering a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against them. Meanwhile, Maria has been cremated in the presence of family and friends.
