Saif told that Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty had already been finalized in the film, but the makers were not getting the male lead. According to him, the reason for this could be the very strong character of Veronica (Deepika) in the film. Saif said, “They had Deepika and Diana, but couldn’t find a hero. Maybe because Veronica’s character was so brilliant. I remember talking to some other actors too, including Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. Then I said, okay, I’ll do it.”
