According to eyewitnesses and initial information, after the fire, many students present on the upper floors got trapped in the smoke. The poisonous smoke proved more lethal than the fire, which engulfed the entire complex within a few minutes. Most of the students died due to suffocation.
The condition of those who survived is also very serious.
Jayant, Lovepreet, Mohammad Asif, Bhuvan Srivastava, Pankaj, Shailendra, Abhishek, Pankaj Joshi and Gaurav Kumar injured in the accident are undergoing treatment at KGMU Trauma Centre. According to doctors, everyone’s condition remains critical. It is being told that two students who jumped from the third floor to save their lives have suffered serious injuries in their spine and back. Expert doctors are continuously monitoring him and treatment is being done on the basis of other tests including CT scan.
Chief Minister reached the hospital and took stock
After the accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself reached KGMU Trauma Center. He inquired about the condition of the injured students and directed the officials to provide free and best medical care to all the injured.
