Azam Khan news: The special court of Rampur has rejected the appeal of Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam. In the two PAN card cases, the sentence of 7 years each will remain intact. Now the hearing on the demand for increasing the punishment is also pending.

Senior Samajwadi Party leader Mohammad Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam Khan have not got relief from the special court of Rampur. His appeals in the two PAN card cases have been rejected, allowing the sentence awarded by the lower court to remain in force.

Session Court did not accept the arguments, approved the sentence

Both of them had filed an appeal against their sentence in the special MP-MLA (Session) court of Rampur. He claimed that he was innocent and the lower court’s decision was wrong. But the court of Special Judge Dr. Vijay Kumar rejected these arguments. The court accepted that the decision of the trial court is correct and there is no error in it.

What is the two PAN card case, why was the punishment given?

This case is related to having two different PAN cards in the name of Abdullah Azam Khan. It is alleged that these documents were used wrongly. In the same case, the trial court had found both the father and son guilty and sentenced them to 7 years each. Now after the decision of the Sessions Court, this punishment will remain intact.

Father and son are in jail, sentence is going on from 2025

After being convicted in this case, Mohammad Azam Khan and Abdullah Azam Khan are lodged in Rampur District Jail since 17 November 2025. His legal battle has now reached a new point, where the hope of relief seems to be ending at the moment.

The difficulties for the family are not ending here. The state government and Nawab Kazim Ali Khan (Naved Mian) have filed a petition in the court demanding increase in the punishment. Assistant District Government Advocate Seema Singh Rana said that the court has accepted the decision of the lower court as correct. He also clarified that both the appeals have been rejected and now only the petitions related to increasing the sentence are yet to be heard.
