Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh): Mahant Dharamdas of Hanumangarhi temple has made a big demand on Tuesday. He has said that the management of Ram temple in Ayodhya should be handed over to the saints and sages instead of the existing trust. Mahant Dharamdas believes that the trust may look after the accounts, but the religious and administrative matters of the temple should remain in the hands of the saints.

Now the entry of saints in Ram temple dispute?
- At present, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is looking after all the arrangements of Ayodhya Ram Temple. Mahant Dharamdas also mentioned the alleged scam in Ram temple donations and said that all the money embezzled in this should be recovered.
- Dharamdas said, “We do not want any trust, we want the monks and saints to look after the entire system. They can keep a trust to keep the accounts and maintain them, but only the saints should look after the system inside and outside the temple.
- Demanding re-implementation of the traditional system of temple administration, he said, “Our demand is that the old system should be restored and the management should be handed over to the sages and saints. In olden times, only sages and saints used to worship there, but now one has to take a pass to go there. These people have removed everyone. Is this good?”
In whose hands should the arrangements of Ram temple be?
- Mahant of Hanumangarhi told that he and other saints wanted to write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this issue. But he could not get an appointment to meet the District Magistrate (DM), after which he had to cancel his press conference.
- He said, “We want to meet the DM to write to the PM. We did not get time to meet, so we canceled our press conference. We will do it later.”
- Referring to Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, Dharamdas said, “Mahant Nritya Gopal Das was made a trustee. But his health was not well, so only these people took the work forward. The result of his work is in front of all of us.”
- On the alleged scam in donations, he said, “Eight people have been arrested, but everything should be recovered. May God give them wisdom.”
Donation accused in judicial custody for 14 days
- Let us tell you that on Monday, a local court of Ayodhya has sent all the accused in the donation scam to judicial custody for 14 days. Following reports of financial irregularities in the offerings and funds at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, Uttar Pradesh Police had taken major action in this matter, after which the court gave this decision.
- Special Investigation Team (SIT) is investigating this matter. This case has also created a big political conflict in Uttar Pradesh, in which the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition are accusing each other over the finances of the temple.
