Only 72 hours after making RCB the champion, Rajat Patidar has suffered a huge tragedy. They had to face this misfortune after a crushing defeat in the first match of Madhya Pradesh Premier League i.e. MPL which started from June 3. The first match of MPL 2026 was played between Gwalior Cheetahs and Ujjain Falcons. In this match, IPL champion captain Rajat Patidar was not only playing for Gwalior Cheetahs, but was also captaining it. But in the match against Ujjain Falcons, neither did Rajat Patidar’s batting work nor did Gwalior Cheetahs win under his captaincy. In the match, 22-year-old Ujjain Falcons player Madhav Tiwari forced captain Rajat Patidar and his team to kneel down, becoming IPL champions for the second consecutive time with their all-round performance.
Patidar’s team finished in 86 balls in the 20 over match.
In the opening match of Madhya Pradesh Premier League 2026, Gwalior Cheetahs had to face a crushing defeat under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar. While chasing the target of 222 runs in 20 overs against Ujjain Falcons, Rajat Patidar and her team’s condition became so bad that not only 20 overs but even 15 overs were not played in the match. The entire team was all out for 129 runs in 14.2 overs and lost the match by a huge margin of 92 runs.
Not only Patidar but entire batting is in bad condition.
Gwalior Cheetah’s poor batting played a big role in this bad defeat. Captain Rajat Patidar’s bat remained silent in front of the big target. Patidar scored only 11 runs. It became difficult for 6 batsmen of Gwalior team to even touch the double figures. Not a single batsman scored a half-century. The maximum score of 46 runs came only from the bat of opener Parth Chaudhary.
Madhav Tiwari eliminated 2 batsmen in 8 balls.
Almost all the bowlers of Ujjain Falcons played their role in pushing Rajat Patidar’s team towards defeat. But, what Madhav Tiwari did in just 8 balls was his highlight. Madhav Tiwari took 2 wickets for 11 runs in 1.2 overs. He first took the wicket of opener Kuldeep Gehi and then took the last wicket of Gujarat Cheetahs in the form of Akash Raghuvanshi.
Before bowling, Madhav created a storm with the bat.
22-year-old all-rounder Madhav Tiwari, before creating havoc with the ball, had shown even more explosive play with the bat for Ujjain Falcons. For Ujjain Falcons, who came to bat first in the match, he came at number 4 and thrashed the bowlers of Gwalior Cheetahs and scored unbeaten 62 runs in just 31 balls at a strike rate of 200. Madhav’s innings included 4 fours and 5 sixes. The result of Madhav Tiwari’s inning was that Ujjain Falcons team, playing first, managed to score 221 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs against Gwalior Cheetahs.
Like Rajat Patidar, Madhav Tiwari is also an IPL player.
In the first match of MPL 2026, Ujjain Falcons defeated the Gwalior team led by Rajat Patidar by 92 runs. With this he has started the new season of the league with a bang.
