Railway employees are facing the brunt of theft of bedsheets and towels by passengers in trains. In a viral video, the employee said that the price of the stolen goods is deducted from their salary, causing financial loss to them.
Stealing is a habit of some people. Some people do not desist from stealing things like sheets or blankets even while traveling by train. Just a few days ago, there were reports that the Railways was suffering huge losses due to such thefts. But now a video is going viral, in which it is known that a poor railway employee is having to bear the brunt of this action of the passengers. This employee distributing bedsheets and blankets in AC coaches has to pay the fine from his own pocket.
In the video, an employee of Indian Railways is narrating his ordeal. He says that whatever luggage the passengers steal during his shift, he has to pay from his salary. He says that he takes great care to ensure that the luggage is not stolen and also changes the way of distributing the luggage, but still the passengers do not stop stealing.
This video has been shared by YouTuber Naveen Singh on Instagram with the caption ‘Please think about such people also’. The name of the railway employee seen in the video is Amit Yadav, who works to distribute and collect bedsheets, towels and blankets in AC coaches. Amit says that people steal this stuff from trains on a large scale and they have to bear the entire burden of it.
While sharing his experience, Amit said that once a fine of Rs 5,000 was deducted from his salary of Rs 14,000 when goods went missing. After this incident he became more alert, but the thefts did not stop. He narrated the story of a train going to Delhi. A passenger asked him for a towel and asked why it was not given earlier. Amit replied that people steal it, hence it is given only on demand. The surprising thing is that even after this conversation the passenger ran away with the towel. At the end of the video, YouTuber Naveen Singh criticizes this shameful act of the passengers and says, ‘Please stop stealing’. After watching the video, people are reacting strongly to it. Many people have said that there is a severe lack of civic sense among Indians.
