A heart-wrenching case has come to light from Pune. Here a husband poured toilet cleaner acid on his wife just because she could not bear a son. After several weeks, the woman somehow escaped and reached the police.

Pune Rural Police has registered a case against a 30-year-old man. It is alleged that he attacked his wife’s private parts by pouring toilet cleaning acid. This shocking incident happened on April 20 in a village in Haveli taluka. According to the police, the accused husband was suspicious of his wife. He also taunted her as to why she did not give birth to a son. The couple has two daughters.

How did she run away and complain?

The victim told that her husband first threatened her of pouring acid and then actually attacked her. She got badly burnt in this attack. The woman pleaded a lot for treatment, but the husband did not take her to the doctor. He was even stopped from going to his maternal home.

On May 9, when the husband was away at work, the woman ran away with her daughters to her parents’ house in Solapur taluka. There he narrated his story. After this, on May 14, he contacted Pune Rural Police. After medical examination, a case was formally registered on May 15.

Police said that the accused works as a welder in a fabrication unit in Haveli taluka. A case has been registered against him under sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 124 (causing grievous hurt by use of acid) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).
