Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna has made an unwanted record in T20. He has become the first bowler in the world to concede 125 runs in two consecutive T20 innings. He gave 57 runs against Ireland and 68 runs against Australia.
belfast: Indian pace bowler Prasidh Krishna has made a record in his T20 career, which no bowler would like to remember. He has become the first bowler in the world to concede 125 runs in two consecutive T20 innings. In the match against Ireland in Belfast, he gave away 57 runs in four overs without taking any wicket. Earlier in 2023, in the match against Australia in Guwahati, he had given 68 runs, which was his previous worst performance.
When the right-arm pacer was handed the ball in the seventh over of the match, the start was fine, but then he hit two sixes and gave away 14 runs in that one over. He made a comeback to some extent in the subsequent overs. Gareth Delany hit a short ball for four, but another ball went wide of the stumps. When Krishna came back in the twelfth over, he troubled Lorcan Tucker with his pace and swing. But an attempt to bowl a yorker turned out to be a full toss and that too was hit for a four.
But his last over was like a nightmare. George Dockrell hit a boundary on the very first ball. Soon after, Delaney turned the game around by hitting a four and then three consecutive sixes. A total of 27 runs were scored in this one over. This is the most expensive over by any Indian bowler against Ireland in T20. All his attempts to bowl yorkers and slow balls failed to stop the flow of runs.
Fans and cricket experts believe that despite having the potential to become one of the best bowlers in the world, his inability to perform consistently makes him an easy target. This is the reason why when he was included in the team in place of injured Mohammad Siraj, many questions were raised. Ireland also benefited from Prasidh’s expensive bowling and scored 182 runs after losing 9 wickets in 20 overs.
