How are contestants selected for reality shows?
Speaking about casting for reality shows, Karan Mally said, “It is all about characters. I cast people with different mannerisms and behaviors. For example, I had to cast a couple in one show. I looked at their personalities. For example, you’ve seen Ravi Kishan and his daughter in a reality show. This is how I look for characters in reality shows who are impressive and can perform brilliantly. I’ve been accused of casting based on social media followers. I’ll just say that we look at popular people, because these are celebrity shows. Even if we cast influencers, we look at their followers as well as their content.”
Karan Mally further said that, especially for reality shows, people or celebrities are cast especially for fans to be able to see them for at least 52 days.
