What is the story of ‘Teesri Begum’?
Made under the banner of BMB Productions, ‘Teesri Begum’ is a social drama whose story revolves around an ordinary girl named Pooja Dixit. After marriage, her life suddenly changes when she comes to know that her husband Babban Khan already has two wives. Not only this, Pooja’s name is also changed to Nagma, raising questions on both her identity and existence. However, the story is not limited to only pain and deception. The interesting turn of the film comes when Pooja meets her husband’s second wives, Shabana and Tabassum. These women, who appear to be rivals to each other in the beginning, later unite for their rights and respect. After this the film becomes a story of women’s struggle, self-respect and raising voice against injustice.
