Udaipur Disabled Love Story: A story of struggle and passion has come to light from a small village in Falasia area of Udaipur district of Rajasthan, which has dealt a severe slap to the narrow mindedness of the society. Born in a peaceful environment of the village, the life of Bharat Kumar Adhari changed in his childhood when he got infected with polio. Dependence on others for daily tasks and helplessness in mobility made every day an ordeal. On the other hand, the story of Hasina Kumari Bhogora, also a resident of Falasia, was no less painful. Born in a very poor family, Hasina lost her mother in her childhood. The remaining task was completed when his face and hands were seriously burnt in a terrible fire accident, leaving one of his hands permanently disabled.
“Who will marry her?”…when the taunts of the society pierced the heart
Despite all the difficulties and limited resources, Bharat Kumar did not lose his courage and completed his graduation. But as they grew up, our society emerged as the most bitter and painful challenge of life. Whenever the issue of marriage in India came up, instead of showing sympathy, people would issue sharp arrows. People of the society would often say behind the back or in front, “He himself is disabled, who will marry him? How will he take the responsibility of someone else?” These things broke Bharat’s self-esteem to the core and he often drowned in the darkness of loneliness.
Two incomplete dreams, one complete story: When two wounded hearts meet each other
It is said that matches are made in heaven and when the time comes, paths automatically meet. Hasina Kumari suddenly entered the life of India, which was struggling with taunts and loneliness. When both of them shared their ordeal with each other, they realized that their pain was similar. Behind Hasina’s scarred face and affected hand, Bharat saw a very beautiful and strong heart, while Hasina saw Bharat’s steely courage beyond her physical disability. This relationship was not built on any compulsion or sympathy, but on the foundation of equal respect and deep understanding.
