60,244 constable civil police direct recruitment

CM Yogi was addressing the convocation parade ceremony of police constables of the year 2025 batch under direct recruitment of 60,244 constable civilian police on Sunday. In the event held at the Reserve Police Line, the CM inspected the parade and also took the salute.

The law should be harsh for criminals and sensitive for citizens. CM congratulated the women constables who completed the training and became a part of the convocation ceremony and said that everyone has received rigorous training with dedication and discipline. Now all of you have to go for field duty in the districts. Remember, the harsher the law is for the criminals, the more sensitive it should be for the citizens. He expressed hope that all the constables will take forward the glorious tradition of UP Police with loyalty, honesty and devotion to duty, using the knowledge, skills and values ​​gained from the training.

CM Yogi visited many training academies and saw the condition there.

CM Yogi said that today Reserve Convocation Parade is being organized simultaneously in 10 police training institutes of the state, police lines of 73 districts, 29 PAC battalions and 112 recruit training centres. On June 15, 2025, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah had given appointment letters to 60,244 candidates at the Defense Expo Ground in Lucknow. Their training started from 21st July. During this period, I also visited various training centers and saw that the training and facilities had improved compared to before.

We established UP as the best police force in the country

CM Yogi said that before 2017, UP Police was facing challenges and crisis, but we established it as the best police force in the country. We recruited more than 2.18 lakh police personnel and promoted more than 1 lakh police personnel. In 2017, the training capacity of the police was only 3 thousand, but we have completed the training of 60244 police constables simultaneously in the centers of UP itself, which shows the progress achieved in 9 years.

There were dilapidated barracks in 2017, now high rise buildings in 55 districts

CM Yogi said that before 2017, police barracks were dilapidated, made of tiles and tin sheds, but now in 55 districts, barracks of police personnel and high-rise buildings of residential facilities are visible. Training centers are becoming excellent. Along with basic training, professional training was also given to every trainee. UP Police Training Portal was also launched. Smart PT program was implemented to make physical training scientific and modern. In outdoor training, training was given with modern INSAS and SLR rifles in place of the old 303 Knot rifle.

Excellent performance of UP in Mission Karmayogi

Referring to the Integrated Government Online Training, CM Yogi said that under the guidance of PM Modi, 5 special modules were prepared on the Karmayogi portal under Mission Karmayogi. The process of preparing 32 special training modules is underway. In the recently conducted Sadhna Week, government employees completed 1.25 crore courses and got UP the first position in the country. UP Police completed 28 lakh courses in this. UP Police has been ranked fourth among all the states and departments across the country.

Training is being given as per UP ATS

CM Yogi said that the work of training UP ATS officers and soldiers as per the standards of NIA and international agencies is going on. The police force is also being given special training based on practical skills and soft skills. With the establishment of cyber police stations in 75 districts, police personnel are being given special training to deal with modern cyber crimes. Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences has been established in Lucknow. Here the police force is being trained in the intricacies of scientific investigation.

Now there is fear among criminals, police morale is high

CM Yogi said that UP Police is model and ‘smart’ in the country. UP Police is contributing in providing security and facilities to the common people. Now there are no riots in UP, no government runs parallel to the government, there is no goonda tax and illegal collection. Now in UP, there is fear in the minds of criminals and the morale of the police is high. Earlier the image of the state was synonymous with anarchy and instability, but now the result of clear policy and clear intentions is clearly visible. Describing the situation before 2017, the CM said that there were riots and curfew for months in the state. No one felt safe, but UP Police is now successful in stopping the riots even before they happened. Now the female workforce in UP has increased from 13 to more than 36 percent. UP Police has also prepared itself as the backbone of economic progress. Due to this, large scale investment is coming into the state.

‘Mission Shakti’ running from 2019-20

CM Yogi said that since 2019-20, programs for women’s safety, respect and self-reliance are continuously increasing under Mission Shakti. Mission Shakti Centers have been set up in every police station. Three women PAC battalions (Veerangana Uda Devi in ​​Lucknow, Jhalkari Bai Kori in Gorakhpur and Avanti Bai Lodhi in Badaun) have been formed. The process of formation of three other new battalions has been extended. Safe City project has been implemented in 17 Municipal Corporations and Gautam Buddha Nagar.

Continuous work for the betterment of UP Police

CM Yogi said that to make UP an ideal model of ‘law and order’ and to improve the efficiency of the police force due to the policy of zero tolerance towards crime and criminals, the direct recruitment process was conducted at a record level. Compulsorily 20 percent daughters have been recruited in these. Our government increased the budget of UP Police by more than three times compared to 2017 and also established 7 police commissionerates. UP SSF (Special Security Force) was formed. Pink police booths were established. ATS was equipped with state-of-the-art technology, cyber experts and modern training. 12 forensic labs have been established, 6 labs are under construction. Two mobile forensic labs were established in every district. We have succeeded in reducing the response time of UP-112 from 65 minutes to 6-7 minutes.
