Fast story of Phulera Dooj (Phulera Dooj Ki Vrat Katha)

According to mythology, once Lord Krishna did not meet Radha Rani for a long time. Radha Rani became sad due to not finding Shri Krishna. The effect of his sadness was visible all over Vrindavan. All the flowers blooming there withered. The green trees started drying up, and the branches also started breaking and scattering. The chirping of birds stopped. The flowing stream of the river stopped.

It seemed as if the entire Vrindavan was engulfed in deep sadness and all this was happening only because Radha Rani was not able to meet Lord Shri Krishna. Seeing Radha Rani sad and unhappy, the Gopis also became sad. Radha Rani was just living in the hope of meeting Shri Krishna. He stopped eating and drinking. Seeing the deep sadness spread in Vrindavan, Shri Krishna understood that this was the sorrow of Radha Rani.

Seeing this situation, Lord Shri Krishna immediately reached Vrindavan to meet Radha Rani. On the other hand, as soon as Radha Rani got the news that Shri Krishna was coming, a smile blossomed on her face. As soon as Shri Krishna reached Vrindavan, at that very moment all the trees and plants became green again. Withered flowers blossomed and birds started chirping sweetly. The Gopis also jumped with joy.

When Radha Rani saw Shri Krishna, her happiness knew no bounds. God plucked flowers and started showering them on Radha Rani. Seeing this, Radha ji also started showering flowers on Kanha lovingly. Gradually all the cowherds and gopis also joined in the joy and started throwing flowers at each other. Holi of flowers was played with joy and enthusiasm throughout Vrindavan. Since then, the tradition of playing Holi of flowers started on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month and it started being celebrated as the festival of Phulera Dooj.
