What could be worse than if medicine itself becomes the enemy? A major reason for the harm caused by the medicine is the mistakes made in the way of taking it. People are careless about the medicines they take daily. Many researches have revealed that if these mistakes are made repeatedly, then at some point the effect of the medicine becomes negligible. Experts say that people take antibiotics on their own. This is done more in the case of children. According to reports, if this happens continuously then the medicine becomes ineffective at some point and it is called a superbug situation.
Diseases are affecting Indians at an early age. It is most important to keep them under control or take medicines to get rid of them. Therefore, which mistakes should we not repeat while eating these? Let us tell you through experts…
What do experts say
TV9 talked to Narendra Kumar Sharma, pharmacist of the district hospital of Ghaziabad. Dr. Narendra says that wrong medicine can have adverse effects on the body. Misuse of antibiotics later makes the medicine ineffective. Taking excessive painkillers can affect the kidneys and liver. Due to this, people become victims of kidney and liver damage at an early age. Therefore, take every medicine only after consulting the doctor.
In what diseases do people make the biggest mistake?
In case of fever, cold and cough, people take medicine as per their convenience. Not only this, if you start feeling better after a day then you stop taking the medicine. Doing this causes more damage. Apart from this, some people often start or stop medicines themselves in case of serious diseases like BP and diabetes. Some people stop taking medicines thinking that they are fine now. Experts say that due to this the disease can increase again. Regular checkups and doctor’s advice are necessary.
Common mistakes people make while taking medicine
Many people take medicine on an empty stomach or do not take it on time. Some people do not complete the full course of antibiotics. Many times some people do not even check the expiry frequently. These small mistakes can become big problems.
Difference between generic and branded medicine
Salt is the same in generic and brand medicines. The only difference is the company and price. If the medicine is taken from the right company and on the advice of the doctor, then generic medicine is also effective. People should not live in fear or confusion.
