The romantic comedy Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, starring , Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh, had a slow start for its first weekend. The Hindi film is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh and brought back writer-director Mudassar Aziz to helm it as well. However, while the comedy saw some growth on day 3 with Rs 7.75 nett, it could not cross the Rs 20 crore mark overall. The multi-starrer saw some competition with the Tamil film , which picked up over the weekend despite its delayed start.

According to Sacnilk, the rom com led by Ayushmann earned Rs 7.75 nett on day 3, taking its overall collections to Rs 17.50 crore. The Hindi film has had a 34.8 per cent growth from its second day when it earned Rs 5.75 crore nett. While it failed to earn Rs 20 crore domestically, the worldwide gross was Rs 24.25 crore. On May 22, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do will face more competition as the Dharma romance Chand Mera Dil starring Lakshya and Ananya Pandey will be released in theatres.

Rajesh Roshan, Rochak Kohli, Tanishk Bagchi, Neelkamal Singh, Tony Kakkar, Badshah and Dev Sadaana have all contributed towards the film’s soundtrack. Veteran composer Rajesh Roshan’s song Kali Teri Choti Hai Paranda was reimagined into Roop Di Rani from the 1990 film Bahaar Aane Tak. The marital comedy was originally due to be released in March 2026, but it got delayed.

The sequel sees Ayushmann play a character named Prajapati Pandey, who is happily married to Aparna Trivedi, played by Wamiqa Gabbi. The relationship is tested when Prajapati’s ex-classmate Chanchal Kumari (Sara Ali Khan) comes into the picture. Prajapati’s co-worker Nilofer Khan, played by Rakul Preet Singh, believes he is cheating on his wife, while Aparna believes he is cheating on her with two women. It’s a comedy of errors for sure!

The ensemble cast features Vijay Raaz, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Vishal Vashishtha, Guneet Singh Sodhi as Surinder, Durgesh Kumar, Ayesha Raza Mishra, Shireesh Kumar Sharma, and Deepika Amin. Interestingly, Ayushmann’s brother Aparshakti Khurana had a supporting role in the first film, which was also helmed by Mudassar Aziz. Pati Patni Aur Woh, starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday, was a remake of the 1978 hit starring Sanjeev Kumar.
