In the review meeting of the Women and Child Development Department held in the Ministry on Sunday, the Chief Minister directed the officials to give priority to public participation, accountability and transparency in the implementation of the schemes. He also said that the officers and employees who are doing good work at the ground level should be encouraged, while strict action should be ensured against those who are negligent.

Many departments will work together to improve nutrition

The Chief Minister said that to overcome the problem of malnutrition among children and women, one cannot depend only on the Women and Child Development Department. Along with Health Department, School Education Department, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, private hospitals and social institutions should also be associated with this campaign.

He instructed the officials to study the successful innovations going on in other states of the country and different districts of Madhya Pradesh and prepare an action plan to implement them on a large scale.

Facilities will increase for working women

Important discussions were also held in the meeting regarding women’s safety and facilities. The Chief Minister asked to make a plan to develop Working Women Hostels in those industrial areas where the number of women employees is high.

Officials informed that the construction work of working women hostels has started in Dewas, Narmadapuram, Jhabua and Singrauli. At the same time, new one stop centers have also been approved in various districts of the state to provide assistance to women in distress.

More than 66 thousand children got help

Many initiatives of the government are also going on in the field of child protection. Through Child Helpline, 51 district level and one state level help centers of the state have so far provided assistance to more than 66 thousand children. Apart from this, a special mapping process is also going on in 13 districts to identify and monitor at-risk children, so that timely assistance can be provided to the needy children.

Graduation ceremony organized for more than 9 lakh children

A unique innovation of Madhya Pradesh government has been appreciated at the national level. A special graduation ceremony was organized for 9 lakh 28 thousand children in the age group of 5 to 6 years in the state, in which Vidyarambh certificates were given to the children. The objective of this initiative was to prepare children for school education and ensure their smooth entry into school. Madhya Pradesh is leading in upgrading Anganwadi

Under the Saksham Anganwadi Upgradation Campaign, 12,670 mini Anganwadi centers have been converted into main Anganwadi centers in the state. With this achievement, Madhya Pradesh has joined the leading states of the country.

The government believes that a strong Anganwadi system strengthens the foundation of children’s nutrition, health and elementary education.

Big impact of Ladli Behna and Ladli Lakshmi schemes

It was informed in the meeting that under the Mukhyamantri Laadli Brahmin Yojana, financial assistance worth more than Rs 47,775 crore has been provided to more than 1.25 crore women from January 2024 to May 2026. Under Ladli Lakshmi Yojana, 15.84 lakh girls have been registered till May 2026 and scholarships worth more than Rs 537 crore have been distributed. The objective of these schemes is to empower women and daughters economically and socially.

Madhya Pradesh continues to be on top in Matru Vandana Yojana

Madhya Pradesh is continuously performing better in the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. Officials said that under the scheme, assistance amounting to more than Rs 798.68 crore has been provided to 15.51 lakh pregnant women. For the last two and a half years, Madhya Pradesh has remained at the top position in the country in effective implementation of this scheme.
