NTA NEET Toppers List: National Testing Agency (NTA) has finally announced the results of NEET UG 2026, the country’s biggest and most competitive exam. With this decision, the heartbeats of about 20 lakh candidates across the country have calmed down and the path for admission in medical colleges has become completely clear. As soon as the list of toppers was released, everyone was stunned. This year, not just one student, but two promising students have created a stir by jointly securing the first position in the country. Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana have proved their talent to the entire country by scoring 715 marks out of 720 in this very difficult examination. The percentile of both was 99.9999, which is an example in itself.

Chakravyuh of women power: How girls destroyed the empire of boys?
This year’s results will be remembered not just for the marks, but for a major change on the gender front. Of the total 11.21 lakh candidates who qualified the exam, more than 58 percent were women. Girls have left boys miles behind not only in numerical strength but also in qualifying rate (passing percentage).

That illusion of numbers: Was it very easy to make ‘Mission 600’ this time?
When we look at the distribution of scores, this time the match looks very scary. Just imagine, thousands of students have performed exceptionally well in this exam yearning for every single mark:
- More than 700 marks: 19 candidates crossed this magical figure.
- More than 690 marks: A total of 138 candidates achieved this feat.
- 650 or more points: 1,492 brave students.
- 600 or more marks: 10,160 candidates, making the race to the cut-off more exciting.
- 500 or more marks: A total of 90,780 students are standing in this queue.
Game of Geography: Uttar Pradesh became number one, Lakshadweep also surprised
The flag of success has been hoisted in all 36 states and union territories. But in terms of numbers, Uttar Pradesh proved to be the ‘King of Qualifiers’ this time too, from where the maximum number of more than 1.7 lakh students were declared successful. On the other hand, 43 bravehearts from the remote part of the country, Lakshadweep, have declared their victory by passing this difficult exam.

Final equation of category: Know how many warriors from which category were successful?
According to the official data released by NTA, the number of students who have qualified under different categories are as follows:
- OBC-NCL: 5.12 lakh candidates (largest category)
- General: 2.91 lakh candidates
- SC: 1.59 lakh candidates
- Gen-EWS: 95,026 candidates
- ST: 63,716 candidates
- PwBD: 3,666 candidates
Besides, the agency has also released state-wise toppers, language-wise participation, category-wise cutoff and merit list.

The secret of no delay: How results are released at superfast speed?
This time, NTA conducted the evaluation of this examination, which is usually surrounded by controversies and delays, in a very systematic and transparent manner. After the examination was conducted on 21st June, the provisional answer key was released within just 4 days i.e. on 25th June. After this, after settling the objections, the final answer key was released on 16th July and the final results were declared the same night, so that there is no delay in counselling.
Who will get the desired MBBS seat?
With the release of the results, the most important phase of medical admission is about to begin. Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will conduct the counseling for All India Quota (AIQ) seats, while for State Quota seats, the respective state authorities will complete the admission process. The competition for admission to top government medical colleges is likely to be more tough this time given the large number of candidates scoring high marks. For lakhs of students, the examination journey may be over, but the real direction of their medical career will now be decided during counseling and seat allotment.
