Bengaluru: A heartbreaking news has come from Mysore, Karnataka. Here, just a few days before her marriage, a girl and her parents committed suicide together. You will also be stunned after knowing the reason. Actually, a boy had sent some private pictures of the girl to her fiance. Due to this fear of defamation, the entire family sacrificed their lives.
The deceased have been identified as Shivanna (54), his wife Nagarathna (44) and their 21-year-old daughter Rakshita. According to the police, Rakshita’s marriage was to take place on June 24. A boy named Ullas Gowda, a resident of Mysore, first wanted to marry Rakshita, but Rakshita and her family refused the relationship. Even after this, Ullas was continuously harassing Rakshita and pressurizing her for marriage.
When Rakshita’s marriage gets fixed somewhere else, Ullas starts harassing her again. On the night of 21 June, Shivanna’s family called Ullas and his parents to their home. He warned Ullas and got some of Rakshita’s pictures and messages deleted from his phone. But, Ullas had cleverly saved some pictures with himself.
After returning home, Ullas sent the same pictures to Rakshita’s future husband. The boys got furious after seeing the pictures and reached Rakshita’s house and started asking questions about it. Rakshita’s family was devastated by this incident. Police said that due to fear of being insulted and defamed in the society, Shivanna and his family consumed poison at home in the early hours of Monday. Police have also found a suicide note from the spot, in which the family has blamed Ullas Gowda for his death.
After this incident the villagers and relatives got angry. They created a ruckus and stopped the bodies from being taken for postmortem, demanding immediate arrest of the accused. Later, the police arrested Ullas Gowda who was trying to escape. A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against him.
