NCP-SP MLA Rohit Pawar has demanded a transparent and time bound investigation into the MPSC paper leak case. He sought a report in 15 days and criticized the state government for not having an anti-paper leak law.
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [भारत]July 28 (ANI): NCP-SP MLA Rohit Pawar on Tuesday demanded a timely and transparent investigation into the alleged paper leak irregularities related to the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examinations.
He said, “Hrishikesh Gangurde, who is also a complainant about the paper leak that happened in MPSC, has been called because we went to the MPSC secretary yesterday. We also went to the police, and we requested that there be a transparent investigation in this particular matter, and the names which were mentioned in the letter or the documents given by us, they have called everyone. But they have just called them; the investigation has not started yet. We expect a transparent investigation, and next In 10-15 days, I am hopeful that we will get a report on that particular paper leak that happened in MPSC.”
Government targeted over anti-paper leak law
Speaking to reporters, Pawar criticized the Maharashtra government over the lack of a comprehensive anti-paper leak law in the state, and pointed out that proposals to strengthen the examination laws are pending. He said, “We have tried many times in the last 4-5 years that a special bill should be passed in Maharashtra. A few years ago, the President of this country had asked all the states to have their own paper leak policy or bill. Then the Maharashtra government brought a bill, but that bill was incomplete. Based on that, you know I had proposed a lot of things. Unfortunately, in Maharashtra, that bill has not been discussed yet. The points that we were expressing or what we were putting forward. The state government has not accepted.”
Whistleblower made shocking revelations
Meanwhile, whistleblower Hrishikesh Gangurde of alleged irregularities in the MPSC Drug Inspector exam held on March 22 alleged that candidates had received almost half the questions two days before the exam in the guise of practice material. He said, “On July 23, I received evidence regarding the MPSC Drug Inspector exam held on March 22. It was revealed that a selected group of students had received 90 questions out of the 200 that actually appeared in the exam, under the guise of ‘guess papers’; they had received these on March 20, two days before the exam.”
Demand for forensic investigation
Gangurde called for a thorough forensic investigation of digital footprints and private coaching networks while demanding enhanced investigative measures. He said, “Now we are demanding a forensic investigation. We want a thorough investigation, which will include forensic analysis of the mobile phone and the entire network involved in it, such as coaching classes, so that the entire chain of people behind this can be exposed. We have been called to the Byculla police station today in connection with this case, after which a meeting is also scheduled with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.” (ANI)
