Bhopal. In Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is going to take a big step towards connecting farmers with modern farming and reducing the cost of agriculture. Under the Farmers Welfare Year 2026, the state government is preparing to start ‘agriculture equipment rental shops’ in every assembly constituency. The objective of this initiative is to provide modern agricultural equipment at low cost to small and marginal farmers, so that they can easily perform all farming operations. At present, 5,260 agricultural equipment rental centers are operating in the state. The government will now set up 1,060 new agricultural equipment rental centers every year, so that this facility can be provided to every assembly constituency of the state.

This scheme of the state government will benefit the most those farmers who are not able to buy expensive agricultural equipment. With the help of modern machines available on rent, ploughing, sowing and other agricultural works can be completed in less time and at lower cost. The government believes that this will increase the productivity of farming and also improve the income of farmers.
Vidisha Agriculture Hub: Madhya Pradesh is becoming self-reliant in agricultural machinery manufacturing
Madhya Pradesh is now progressing rapidly in the field of agricultural machinery manufacturing. Vidisha district has emerged as a successful model in this direction. High quality agricultural equipment is being manufactured here, which includes modern agricultural equipment like grader, leveler, hydraulic trolley, cultivator and plough. At present about 150 agricultural equipment manufacturing units are operating in the district. The demand for the equipment manufactured here has reached not only in Madhya Pradesh but also in other states of the country and abroad.

The export of agricultural equipment manufactured in Vidisha is continuously increasing. Agricultural equipment manufactured here is being sent to many countries including Madagascar, Nigeria, Sudan, Uganda, Ghana, Algeria, Guatemala, Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh. Due to this, the agricultural machinery industry of the state is getting a new identity and employment opportunities are also increasing at the local level.
Success Story: Business started in 1993, now Vidisha’s brand has reached abroad
Manas Gupta, director of Usha Agro, says that his company manufactures many agricultural equipment used in farming including loader, deloader, cultivator. He told that this business was started by his father on a small scale in the year 1993. With time the business expanded and today their products are reaching many states of the country as well as more than 10 countries.
According to Manas Gupta, about two-thirds of their total business is in India and one-third is abroad. The annual turnover of the company is around Rs 4 crore. He said that the policies of the state government have played an important role in increasing production and reaching the foreign market. With the help of the government, he also got the opportunity to participate in the G-20 conference, in which about 75 percent of the travel and other expenses were borne by the government.
Farmer Equipment Business: Business started during Corona period, now annual turnover of Rs 50 lakh
Vishnu Sharma, operator of Sanjay Industries, manufactures tractor-related agricultural equipment like cultivators and ploughs. He told that this business was started in the year 2020 during the Corona epidemic. From the very beginning, farmers responded well to his products, due to which the business continued to grow. At present, apart from Vidisha, their agricultural equipment is also reaching the surrounding districts and other states. His annual turnover is around Rs 50 lakh. He also demanded the government to start regular training programs for entrepreneurs associated with the agricultural equipment industry.
Agro Industry Growth: Business worth crores from agricultural equipment industry
Vipin Raghuvanshi, director of M/s Kisan Industries, manufactures agricultural equipment like cultivators, ploughs, loaders and deloaders. Their products mainly reach farmers in Vidisha and surrounding districts. The equipment required for each stage of farming—field preparation, sowing, transplanting and harvesting—is manufactured in their unit.
Deepak Narwariya, director of Agro Smart Technology, said that his business has spread to Madhya Pradesh as well as other states. The annual turnover of his company is around Rs 3 crore and his main customers are farmers and organizations related to agriculture sector.
