Islamabad : A mountain of sorrow has fallen on the family of former Pakistan legend Shoaib Akhtar, one of the fastest bowlers in the history of cricket. His elder brother Shahid Akhtar has passed away. According to Pakistani media reports, this sad news has been confirmed by Shoaib Akhtar himself on his ‘X’ account. However, the reason for Shahid Akhtar’s death has not been revealed yet.
Shoaib Akhtar wrote in an extremely emotional post, “With deep shock and sadness, I am sharing the news that my beloved elder brother Shahid Akhtar has passed away. He has gone to be with Allah. The time and place of his funeral prayers (Namaz-e-Janaza) will be informed tomorrow morning.”
Another former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has also confirmed this news on Facebook. He wrote, “We all belong to Allah and we have to return to Him. Shoaib Akhtar’s brother Shahid Akhtar has passed away. His prayers will be offered near H-8 graveyard. Pray for the soul of the deceased.”
