Moradabad Crime News: A heartbreaking case has come to light from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, where a domestic dispute took the life of a woman. In Katghar police station area, a husband killed his wife just because he did not like her going to the gym. This incident has not only shocked the area, but has also brought to the fore the grim reality of domestic violence.
Controversy started as soon as he returned from the gym, became the cause of death
Scrap businessman Shobhit Gupta and his wife Poonam Gupta, living in Double Phatak area of Katghar Kotwali, were married about 10 years ago. Everything was normal in the initial days, but with time the tension in the relationship started increasing. It is being told that Shobhit was unhappy with Poonam going to the gym. When Poonam returned home from the gym on Thursday morning, a dispute started between the two regarding this matter. The fight escalated so much that Shobhit, in a fit of rage, hit Poonam on the head with the heavy iron handle used to open the shutter. The injury was so serious that Poonam died on the spot.

The accused remained sitting near the dead body for 7 hours after the murder
After the incident, the accused husband did not run away, but remained sitting near his wife’s dead body for about seven hours. During this time he did not inform anyone. In the afternoon, when his innocent daughter returned from school and asked about her mother, he coaxed her and sent her to another room. At around 4 pm, the accused himself called dial 112 and gave false information about his wife being injured. When the police reached the spot, saw the dead body on the bed and found the circumstances suspicious, they immediately took Shobhit into custody.
Dispute and allegations of harassment were already going on
The deceased’s brother Guddu has made serious allegations. He says that it was not just a dispute about going to the gym, but Poonam was being harassed for a long time. According to family members, Poonam had earlier also complained that an attempt was made to kill her by feeding her glass powder, due to which her tongue and cheeks were cut. It is alleged that along with the husband, other family members were also involved in this conspiracy. The family has demanded a fair investigation from the police and strict punishment to the culprits.
Police investigation continues, evidence is being collected
As soon as information about the incident was received, police and officials reached the spot. SP City has given instructions to inspect the incident site and collect evidence. Police say that the accused is being interrogated and the case is being investigated from every aspect, so that the truth can be brought out.
