Fast bowler Mohammad Siraj has been rested from the T20 series of England and Ireland tour. BCCI has taken this decision under workload management. Prasidh Krishna has been included in the team in place of Siraj.
London: Indian team’s fast bowler Mohammad Siraj will not play in the T20 series to be held in England and Ireland tour. He has been given rest under the workload management policy of BCCI. However, BCCI has said that Siraj will join the team for the ODI series to be held on this tour. BCCI clarified that this is a precautionary step in view of the upcoming busy cricket season, so that the players can get adequate rest.
The decision to keep Siraj out of the series was taken after discussions between the BCCI medical team and the team management. He has been given this rest after the only Test match against Afghanistan. Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been included in the T20 team in place of Siraj. Prasidh Krishna is in good form at the moment, he took 3 wickets for 43 runs in the Test against Afghanistan.
In this series, Shreyas Iyer is captaining the team in place of Suryakumar Yadav. Apart from this, young player Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who played for India A team in the Tri-Series in Sri Lanka, has also got a place in the team. In this tour, two T20 matches are to be played against Ireland and five T20 matches against England. After this there will be ODI series.
