Maruti Suzuki India has created a new sales record by selling a total of 2,42,688 vehicles in May 2026. In the same month last year, the company had sold 1,80,777 vehicles. This is the biggest monthly sale ever for the Indo-Japanese company.
The company sold a record 1,93,535 vehicles in the domestic market. At the same time, 7,239 units were supplied to other companies and 41,914 vehicles were exported. Maruti Suzuki’s domestic sales, including light commercial vehicles (LCV), stood at 1,93,535 units in May 2026, while the figure was 1,38,690 units in the same month last year.
In the passenger vehicle (PV) segment, compact and mid-size cars like WagonR, Swift, Baleno and DZire sold 81,555 units, compared to 61,960 units last year. The utility vehicle (UV) segment also showed strong growth. A total of 79,267 units of vehicles like Front, Brezza, Grand Vitara and Ertiga were sold, which was 54,899 units in May 2025.
Apart from this, 13,240 units of Maruti Suzuki Eeco van and 3,198 units of Super Carry Light Commercial Vehicle were retailed. However, supplies to other companies decreased from 10,168 units in May 2025 to 7,239 units. But there was a big jump in exports and it increased to 41,914 units from 31,219 units last year. Including April and May 2026, Maruti Suzuki has sold a total of 4,82,334 vehicles, whereas in the same period in 2025, 3,59,868 vehicles were sold.
New cars of Maruti Suzuki coming in 2026
Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki is set to launch its first flex-fuel car on June 5, 2026. It is expected that it could be Maruti WagonR Flex Fuel or Maruti Frontex Flex Fuel. Both these models have already been shown in concept form in India.
After the flex-fuel car, the company will launch the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Baleno facelift with minor design changes and new features. It is expected that no changes will be made in the engines of both the models. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki will also launch a new premium three-row SUV based on the Grand Vitara. This upcoming model will share its platform, powertrain, components, features and many design elements with the 5-seater Grand Vitara.
