Team India has returned to Test cricket after 6 months and this return has brought good news for a young Indian player. Young spinner Manav Suthar has been given a chance to debut in the test match between India and Afghanistan in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh. Left arm spinner Manav Suthar was welcomed into international cricket by giving him his Test cap just before the start of the match. With this, he became the 319th player to play Test cricket for India, while for the first time after 2021, a spinner has made his Test debut for Team India.
With the start of the only Test match between India and Afghanistan on Saturday, June 6, two debuts took place. Firstly, Maharaja Yadvendra Singh Stadium of Mullanpur was entered in Test cricket and it became the 31st venue of India to organize a Test match. After this, a more important debut took place for Team India, when star leg spinner Kuldeep Yadav handed over his ‘baggy blue’ cap to 23-year-old Suthar. With this Manav Suthar became a part of Indian Test cricket.
