On Mahashivratri, CM Yogi Adityanath performed Rudrabhishek and worship in many Shiva temples including Gorakhnath temple. He wished for the happiness, prosperity, health and peace of the people of the state and encouraged them by meeting the local people, children and players.

Gorakhpur. On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath performed Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva as per rituals at the Shaktipeeth of Gorakhnath temple on Sunday morning. He wished for the health, happiness, prosperity and peace of the people of the state.

Along with this, the Chief Minister also visited the ancient Mansarovar Temple in Andhiyari Bagh and the Piteshwarnath Shiv Temple in Bharohiya and prayed for the welfare of the entire world by performing Dugdha Abhishek and Jalabhishek.

Abhishek was done with Panchamrit bath and Vedic mantras.

After the public darshan program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached the Shakti Temple located on the first floor of the monastery in the Gorakhnath temple complex. Here he gave Panchamrit bath to Lord Shiva with milk, curd, ghee, honey and sugar. After this, Rudrabhishek was performed according to the Vedic method. The priests of the Math and Vedapathi Brahmins completed the rituals with Rudrashtadhyayi mantras of Shukla Yajurveda. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister wished for prosperity and peace for the entire world.

Worship and Abhishek in Mansarovar Temple

After Rudrabhishek, the Chief Minister reached the ancient Mansarovar temple located in Andhiyari Bagh. Here he had darshan of Lord Shiva and worshiped him and anointed him with milk and water. The puja was completed with havan and aarti amidst chanting of Vedic mantras. On this occasion, MP Ravikishan Shukla, Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava and other devotees were present.

Jalabhishek and public dialogue in Piteshwar Nath temple

On the afternoon of Mahashivratri, the Chief Minister reached Piteshwarnath Shiv Temple located in Bharohiya. He worshiped Baba Piteshwarnath and performed Jalabhishek and prayed for the welfare, happiness, prosperity and peace of humanity. This temple, recognized during the Pandava period, is considered to have a special connection with Gorakshpeeth and according to tradition, Gorakshpeethadhishwar performs Jalabhishek here every year.

Meeting local people and children

After visiting the temple, the Chief Minister reached the Guru Gorakhnath Vidyapeeth campus. Here he met local public representatives and citizens and inquired about their well-being. Interacted with the children, blessed them and encouraged the local players. During this, many dignitaries including MLA Fateh Bahadur Singh, block chief representative Sanjay Singh were present.
