A disturbing video of some women being assaulted, stripping them half naked, cutting their hair and making them parade around wearing garlands of slippers has gone viral on social media. Police said on Saturday that two people have been arrested in this case.
According to officials, the incident took place in Vitthal Wadi area of Ulhasnagar. It is being told that there was an old dispute between two families of the same community regarding entry into the temple. This quarrel later escalated so much that it took a violent turn and now this matter is attracting everyone’s attention online. Ulhasnagar ACP Shailesh Kale said that the police have registered a case against seven people involved in this incident and further investigation is going on.
He said, “A case has been registered at Ulhasnagar police station under various sections… A case has been filed against seven people, out of which two have been arrested. The fight took place due to a dispute between two families of the same community regarding entry into the temple, which led to an altercation between the two parties. Cases have been registered against members of both the families involved in the dispute.” Police say that they are continuing their investigation and efforts are being made to trace the remaining accused related to this incident.
