A major reshuffle may be seen very soon in the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speculations about cabinet expansion have now become very intense in the political circles and it is believed that the news of swearing in of new ministers may come out any day.
Preparations are going on internally to include new faces in the central government and administer oath of office and secrecy to them.
The way the Bharatiya Janata Party has taken decisions in the last few days, there are clear indications of this reshuffle. BJP has recently announced the names of new state presidents for many states, soon after which the list of 11 candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections was also released. After looking deeply at both these lists, it has become very clear that four ministers are certain to be removed from the Modi cabinet. Of these, two ministers have been given new and bigger responsibilities in the organization, while there is currently suspense over what will be the future role of the remaining two ministers.
Two big names removed from Rajya Sabha list, tension will increase for Bittu and Kurien
Let us tell you that in the list of candidates released by BJP for the Rajya Sabha elections to be held in various states, two sitting Union Ministers have not found a place. The names of Union Ministers Ravneet Singh Bittu and George Kurien are completely missing from this list. George Kurien is the only Christian minister in the current Modi cabinet and is currently a Rajya Sabha MP from Madhya Pradesh.
On the other hand, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, who left Punjab Congress and joined the saffron camp of BJP, was sent by the party to Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. The tenure of both these veteran ministers is about to end, but despite this, BJP did not give them a chance to send them to Rajya Sabha again. After this shocking decision, it has become common in the political circles of Delhi that both of them may have to leave their ministerial positions in the upcoming cabinet expansion.
The formula of ‘one person one post’, two more ministers will snatch their chair as soon as they join the organization
The blame for this reshuffle is going to fall not only on two ministers but also on two more junior ministers. In fact, BJP has already given huge responsibility to these two ministers in the organization. The party has appointed Union Minister Pankaj Chaudhary as the new state president of the party in an important state like Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, Harsh Malhotra has been given the command of BJP in the country’s capital i.e. Delhi.
The rule of ‘one person one post’ is followed very strictly within the Bharatiya Janata Party. No leader can hold a big position in both government and organization simultaneously. Looking at this rule, it has become completely clear that in the upcoming cabinet expansion, Pankaj Chaudhary and Harsh Malhotra will have to resign from their ministerial posts. BJP can now surprise some new and young faces by giving them a chance on these vacant posts in the government.
What do the rules of Parliament say, how long will the chair remain?
It is also important to understand here that according to the rules of Parliament, even if the tenure of a minister ends on June 21, he can still continue in his ministerial post for a maximum period of 6 months. But the condition is that within these 6 months it is mandatory for him to be elected again as a member of Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha. Since BJP has not made him a candidate again, his removal before the expiry of the deadline or during the cabinet expansion is considered to be completely certain.
