According to the Drik Panchang, the second solar eclipse of the year will occur on August 12 in the year 2026. However, this solar eclipse is not being discussed as much as the solar eclipse that will occur in the year 2027, because it is being called the longest solar eclipse of the century.
This solar eclipse that will occur in the year 2027 will last for 06 minutes 20 or 23 seconds. During this period there will be darkness on earth during the day. This eclipse will be so long due to the Moon being close to the Earth’s perigee, but 107 years ago, a similar longest and total solar eclipse had occurred, when the Earth was covered in darkness during the day. During this period, there was darkness on the earth for 06 minutes and 51 seconds. Will this solar eclipse be visible in India?
This solar eclipse, which will take place in the year 2027, will take place on 02 August. According to scientists, this eclipse will not be visible in full form in India, but in most parts of the country it will be visible as a partial solar eclipse. This means that there will not be complete darkness during the day in India, but still there will be an incident of the Moon covering a large part of the Sun.
What will be the Sutak period?
According to astrology, whether it is a partial or total eclipse, Sutak period starts 12 hours before the eclipse starts and continues till the eclipse period ends, but this is valid only if the eclipse is visible in your area. This longest solar eclipse of the century will not be visible completely, but will be visible in partial form. Therefore, the rules of Sutak will be followed in India. During Sutak, the doors of temples are closed and pregnant women are asked to take special precautions.
