Delhi Capitals’ star batsman KL Rahul is showing his magic in IPL 2026. Runs have been scored from his bat in most of the matches. However, after failure in 3 consecutive matches, questions started being raised about his form. Rahul has answered these questions with a strong innings. The Delhi opener scored a half-century in the match against Rajasthan Royals, with the help of which he completed his 500 runs this season.

Closer to Kohli, Rajasthan is attacked again

In the match played on Sunday 17th December at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Delhi Opener Rahul scored his half-century in 34 balls. This was Rahul’s fourth half-century this season. During this innings, Rahul also completed his 500 runs in the IPL 2026 season. He is the fifth batsman to cross 500 runs in the current season. This is the third consecutive season when Rahul has scored more than 500 runs. Not only this, Rahul has scored more than 500 runs in a season for the 8th time and is behind only Kohli (9).

The most special thing about this half-century innings of Rahul is that he has crossed the 50-run mark for the 9th time against Rajasthan. In this way, the record of most number of scores of 50 runs or more against Royals is now in the name of Rahul. Before this, he was on par with AB de Villiers, who has done this 8 times. While De Villiers did this in 20 innings, Rahul went ahead of him in just 19 innings.

Rahul-Abhishek won by innings

Rahul could not take his half-century innings much further and was out after scoring 56 runs in 42 balls. But on the basis of this innings and 105-run partnership with Abhishek Porel, Rahul laid the foundation of the team’s victory. Captain Akshar Patel scored 34 not out and Ashutosh Sharma scored 18 not out and the team achieved the target of 193 runs in the last over and with its sixth win this season, kept the playoff hopes alive till the last match.
