The body of a newborn was found in a bucket of the bathroom of a private hospital in Nilambur, Kerala. Police suspect that the child’s mother has abandoned him. The woman had come to the hospital complaining of heavy bleeding and left the baby in the washroom after giving birth.
Nilambur (Kerala) [भारत]July 28 (ANI): A newborn baby was found dead inside a bucket in the bathroom of a private hospital in Akambadam on Monday. While cleaning at Fatima Hospital, the cleaning staff of the hospital found this dead body.
According to preliminary investigation, police suspect that the mother intentionally left the child in the bathroom. The officers reached the hospital, inspected and recorded the statements of the doctors and hospital staff.
Woman came to hospital complaining of bleeding
Hospital officials said that last night around 11 pm, a girl from Chaliyar and her relatives had come to the hospital complaining of heavy bleeding. The nurse on duty advised him to immediately shift him to Nilambur District Hospital for further treatment. Before being transferred, the woman went to the bathroom to change clothes and came out after some time. After this he was shifted to the district hospital by ambulance.
Police have registered the case and started investigation. The exact cause of death of the newborn will be known after postmortem examination and further investigation. (ANI)
